Welcome to ‘Vusmann Football Tips’ column

Vusumuzi Vusmann

Your host will be Vusumuzi Vusmann Mathwasa kaSaficana Ndlovu. This season (2019/20) I will feature the South African PSL and the English Premier League. I will both preview and review games. I will then predict the outcome of all games week by week alongside a guest (besides Matchday 1 on both leagues). I will also review the previous seasons on both leagues before it commences.

South African PSL 2018/19 season

 Mamelodi Sundowns won the league with 59 points, two ahead of Orlando Pirates.

 Free State Stars and Maritzburg United got 27 points, minus 16 and minus 10 goals respectively.
 Free State got relegated whilst Maritzburg won the
relegation/promotion playoffs against Royal Eagles and
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
 Stellenbosch got promoted from the National First Division.

 Sundowns and Bidvest Wits won the most games, 16 games apiece.
 Six games won by Baroka, Maritzburg and Free State were the least.
 Wits drew 6 times, Highlands Park 14 times; the most and the least respectively.
 Sundowns and Pirates recorded the least defeats on 3 each whereas Maritzburg and Free State had the most on 15 apiece.
 Cape Town City scored 47 goals, the most in the league whilst Maritzburg scored 22 times, the least.
 Sundowns and Pirates conceded the least goals on 24 whilst Free State conceded the most on 47.

 On 20, Pirates had the best goal difference.
 The most frequent scoreline was a one all deadlock.
 The highest scoreline was a 4-0 drubbing.
